Employee Care: Support and Integration of International Employees
International employees can become a stable part of your workforce—provided they receive the right support from day one. The Employee Care service helps companies manage the entire process of employing international talent, from recruitment and administration to their integration into a new working and living environment in the Czech Republic.
Labour shortages are now a reality across many industries—from manufacturing and logistics to warehousing. For many companies, hiring international employees has become a natural solution. However, recruitment alone is often not enough. For new hires to start quickly and stay long-term, they need support with relocation and adaptation to a new environment.
Employee Care helps companies manage the full integration process of international employees—from the first contact in their home country to ongoing support throughout their employment in the Czech Republic. As a result, employees can better understand their new work environment, adapt faster, and become a stable part of the team.
Why Integration of International Employees Matters
Hiring employees from abroad brings new opportunities, but also specific challenges. International employees often face language barriers, different working habits, and the need to navigate an unfamiliar environment. Without proper support, their integration into the team can be more difficult than it may initially seem.
Companies that prioritize adaptation typically benefit from more stable and motivated employees. When employees clearly understand administrative requirements, know where to turn with questions, and feel supported by their employer, it significantly increases their satisfaction and performance.
What Is Employee Care
Employee Care is a comprehensive program focused on supporting international employees and their integration into the Czech labour market. It helps companies handle administration, relocation, and day-to-day adaptation.
The program covers both preparation before employees arrive in the Czech Republic and support during their first weeks and months on the job. This allows companies to hire international talent without unnecessary administrative burden, while employees can focus on their work.

Adaptation as the Key to Successful International Hiring
According to the Labour Market Mosaic 2025 (Mozaika pracovního trhu) survey, more than 67% of Czech employees have experience working with colleagues of different nationalities. Despite this, language barriers, different expectations, and cultural differences can still arise. The Employee Care program helps companies manage these situations—supporting communication, easing integration, and ensuring a stable and well-functioning work environment.

Objective
Since April 2023, Gi Group has been cooperating with Škoda Group to provide care for foreign employees. This cooperation covers the entire process – from the selection of employees in their home country to employment in the Czech Republic. The first group from Indonesia arrived in August 2023.
The aim is to facilitate the employees’ adaptation, speed up their integration and support them in everyday work and personal situations.
Implementation
The programme starts in the employees’ country of origin – it includes communication, support during the visa process and preparation for life in the Czech Republic. Employees had access to online materials, a landing page and personal support from colleagues upon arrival.
Upon arrival in the Czech Republic, they are accompanied by a Gi Group coordinator – also available outside of working hours – who helps to deal with routine issues and formalities.
Project manager’s testimonial – Marian Čečotka, Gi/Grafton:
“We found out that rice from a regular retail chain does not suit Indonesian employees, so we bring it from the Prague market. Arranging specialised medical check-ups for the welders was challenging, but we managed. Coordinating accommodation is not only about the number of beds, but also about the correct gender distribution.”
Main activities of the programme
- Organisation of travel to the workplace
- Arranging accommodation

“The greatest added value of our cooperation became apparent as soon as the first
groups of employees arrived. Within 5 months we had recruited more than 250
employees. We also had more than 20 onboardings per week. The GI team did the
impossible by providing medical checks, OAMP, training translations and onboarding
assistance to our new employees within three days of arrival.”
